Yin Yang Yoga
….. Yin Yang Yoga may appear to be a new era of Yoga but it is actually in most yoga teachings but most practitioners perform Yin Yang Yoga in a separate way. Most people familiar with yoga are familiar with yang yoga, as this tends to be more common in Western culture.
….. Yang yoga stimulates the muscles in the body, encouraging strength and great physical health. Over time however, if yin yoga is not practiced, the body will weaken and the joints of the body will become susceptible to injury. As one ages, a lack of flexible joints in the body increases the risk of pain.
…..Yin yoga also increases one’s ability to perform yang yoga. By having lubricated, flexible joints, yang practices will seem easier. Perhaps the main difference in yin and yang yoga is each practices affect on the mind. Yin yoga creates a balance and peace in the mind. In its earlier years of existence, yin yoga was used in order to improve meditation practices. Yin yang yoga may both be helpful in treating those in need of alcohol rehab and drug treatment as each provides physical health as well as mental stability.
What is Yin Yoga?
…..Yin yoga is a less-popular form of yoga which is performed to stretch the connective tissues of the body. Primary connective tissues include the hips, thighs and lower spinal area. These types of tissues do not stretch the muscles (as in the yang form of yoga) but they stretch and exercise the bone and joints areas of the body. This type of asana practice is beneficial to a wide variety of people.
…. Yin yoga is a perfect match for yang yoga, and provides a deeper stretch. Although yin yoga is not as intense as other yang forms of yoga, its long duration can be difficult to maintain. The duration of some posture positions may last up to 20 minutes at a time. Yin yoga is sometimes offered at eating disorder treatment clinics, inpatient drug treatment centers, or even for those seeking pain treatment and trauma recovery.

At normal conditions, the increase and decrease of yin and yang are kept within certain range, reflecting a dynamic equilibrium of the physiological processes. When the balance is affected or disturbed, disease develops.
….Typical disease causing yin-yang imbalances include; excess of yin, excess of yang, deficiency of yin, and deficiency of yang. Yin Yang Yoga is important to prevent such imbalances and to every practitioner ofYin Yang Yoga will reap the benefits of Yin Yang Balance
The Balancing Qualities of Yin Yang Yoga
…. Taoists say that Yin and Yang are the same essence but reflects quite different qualities. These two aspects always exist together – one cannot exist without the other. They define one another and that is why JA Bodyworks focuses so much on Yin Yang Yoga, to ensure that every practitioner ofYin Yang Yoga reaps the benefits of the balancing qualities
Yin is reflective of those aspects that are stable, unmoving, more deeply hidden, cold, directed toward the earth and difficult to see.
Yang is reflective of aspects that are changing, bright, hot, excited, directed toward heaven and exposed.
…In the body, bones are Yin, muscles are Yang and connective tissues are somewhere in between.Yin Yang Yoga is vital to improve our wellness.
Yin Yang Yoga
Yin yoga focuses mostly on the lower half of the body targeting the bones, joints, and connectives tissues of the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, and lower spine. The poses are held is stasis or stillness from 2 to 20 minutes. The methodology employs skillful pressure for an appropriate length of time in a muscularly released way. Yin yoga prepares our bodies and minds to sit comfortably in meditation.
Yang Yoga is perhaps a more popular or familiar form of practice in the Western World. Techniques include “hugging” the bones by engaging muscles, strengthening core muscles, integrating tensegrity in dynamic pstures and moving at a faster pace. By activating the energy in the more superficial tissues of the body we maintain a vibrancy that is fundamental to our good health.
